5 Freebies for your next Mobile App Design
Mobile app design has completely revolutionized the work that goes into icons. While we’re big fans of intricately designed glossy icons, they’re nothing like a good set of clean monochrome icon sets that we can throw into mockups, prototypes and designs. Our resources folders are overflowing with social media icons in every shape and size possible. But these ones just take the cake and if there was a speed dial in Photoshop, we’d pull these through all the time.
1. Glyphish Icons by Joseph Wain
It doesn’t get better than this. 200 of the best looking icons for mobile design, Joseph Wain’s Glyphish library leaves everybody in the dust. Flipboard, Twitter, WordPress and Dribble all used Glyphish for their mobile interfaces. Support Joseph like the folks at Innovations_Digital and get the entire 280 icons for just $25. If you just want to test the waters, his free collection comes in at 200 specific icons.
2. Payment Icons by Phil Mathews
If you go through our work, you’ll see that we’ve worked with a large spectrum of banking clients. When you just can’t call up your creative agency or source logos through Google’s infamous image search, this set can be extremely useful for that eCommerce design.
3. iPhone 4 GUI PSD
You’ve created your mockup and now your probably going through Google all over again to source a ‘large’ image of an iPhone so you can easily communicate your design across. The folks over at Teehan+Lax have been hard at work since 2008 giving designers a free PSD with iOS elements so prototyping that design becomes that much more simpler. Some times its just better to keep it simple, stupid.
4. iPad GUI PSD
We’ve just mentioned Teehan+Lax but they’re back again with a glorious iPad PSD with all the iOS elements you would need to get that client design going. Apple has nothing on them.
5. Social Media Icons
Its extremely difficult to come across a site today that doesn’t have social media links on it. And the same goes for mobile apps. While its relatively easy to find social media icons today, finding the right ones can be tough. Now, we know that is very subjective but these ones are just plain awesome.
